Student Project Pitch Session
New this year will be an evolution of student involvement in SISDO. High school, undergraduate, and postgraduate students may submit an abstract summarizing a significant academic project that highlights sustainability research, design, or capstone projects. Selected student abstracts will be invited to present their project in a short form “Project Pitch” session during the main SISDO program. In lieu of a normal presentation slot, any student projects submittals will be able to give 5–10-minute pitches to conference attendees. The “Project Pitch” format is intended to encourage students to concisely convey the purpose, outcomes, and impact of their projects and persuade the industry to take an interest in their work. A presentation slide deck is expected for any Project Pitch submittals and shall include the name(s) of student(s) involved and school name. Students whose submittals are selected for a Project Pitch will be invited to attend the conference at no charge.
