The Return of Compton
The headline sounds like the title of a bad rap song, but in this case it refers to the return of Dean Emeritus Roger Compton to the Webb Faculty. Dr. Compton has returned to Webb for the 2015/2016 academic year and is teaching the freshman Naval Architecture I course and the junior Ship Design I course.

Webb Students Across the Globe for Winter Work 2016!
Now that the fall semester is over, our students are getting ready for Winter Work Term, which starts the first week of January and ends late February. This is when our students gain hands-on experience in shipyards, aboard ships, or design and engineering offices.
Freshmen: work alongside ship fitters and welders in shipyards.
Sophomores: serve as student observers aboard ocean going ships to gain hands-on understanding and appreciation for the relationships between the marine environment, the shipping industry, the ship’s operators, and the ship’s design.
Juniors and Seniors: network and apply themselves in design and engineering offices around the world.
Below is a list of the companies our students will be working during the 2016 Winter Work term. Stay tuned for the Winter Work Blogs, where Students write about their own personal experiences during Winter Work. These blogs will be available mid-January. More information about this program is available here.
